SLIDING AND FOLDING SHUTTERS

Wondering what to do with wider openings?
How can shutters be used to cover patio doors or wide windows where
It’s just not possible to hinge them in the conventional way?

No problem is the short answer!

Where openings exceed the technical limits of hinging your shutters like you would for more usual sized windows, additional support is needed to take the stress and load off the shutters and the mounting frames. This is where track mounting comes in and solves this problem in the most elegant and effective way.

Track can be employed in one of 2 ways. Either as a bi-fold or as a by-pass (sliding) arrangement. Bi-fold simply means that all the shutter panels are guided and supported by rollers at the top of a single track and a single guide channel at the bottom. They can be installed to fold all to the left, all to the right or they can be split to open left and right.

Bi-pass is similar in that a track is installed at the top and a guide channel at the bottom but in this arrangement, there are 2 sets of tracks and channels that run parallel and the shutters slide along the tracks in a single line. This is helpful where space is limited within the room and folding panels is not practical.
